The boys and girls track teams defeated the Northwestern Wildcats on Wednesday April 30th to secure region championship titles. They boys won with a score of 114-31 and the girls outscored the Wildcats 96-48.
The Grapeickers had several first place finishers. For the boys in the 100 meter run was Shane Resta. Mikael Banaag won the 200 meter run and Connor Rowicki placed first in the 400 meter run. In the 3200 run, Jacob Sank secured the win. Isaac McGuigan finished first in both the 110 and 300 meter hurdles. The boys were also victorious in all 3 relays. In jumping events, Mason Karash won the high jump, Carter Crozier won the long jump and Jacob Lucas won the triple jump Mason Probst secured the win in the pole vaulting event. In throwing events Will Vanderweele placed first in javelin and Liam Jones in shotput.
The girls had first place finishes in the 200 meter run with Rhyan Rutkowski placing first. Also crossing the finish line first were Ashley Hartner in the 800 meter run and London Mayo in both the 100 and 300 meter hurdles. The lady runners swept all three relays. Mariah Rodemoyer finished first in both the high and long jump events. Lainey Labruzzo won the pole vault and finishing first in the shot put was Haven Dobson.
